Jeff Mills releases new Millstart EP for Axis Expressionist Series, ‘Space Outside Space’: Listen

Jeff Mills has released a new Millstart EP as part of his Axis Expressionist Series.

The ‘Space Outside Space’ EP is out now on Axis Records and follows last year’s ‘Powerland’ EP.

The Axis Expressionist Series is a collection of vinyl and “limited digital releases” curated by Millsart that are described as his “most eclectic and transcendent compositions that derive from his Every Dog Has Its Day project, as well as new unreleased works”.

Last month, several billboards emblazoned with the words “This Is Techno” popped up in Detroit, attributable to a campaign from Mills’ Axis Records.

Visible in four locations across the city, the billboards depict two futuristic images side by side. According to a press statement written by Mills, they are intended to provoke discussion and “sharpen our sense to detect what is Techno and what is not.”

Earlier this year, Mills released a new album with his jazz fusion project Spiral Deluxe via Axis Records. ‘The Love Pretender’, which features an appearance from late French guitarist Sylvain Luc.
