Jammz and EartH Studio 36 announce artist development programme for emerging young talent
Jammz has teamed up with London’s EartH Studio 36 to launch an artist develop programme for young people.
The 16-week programme, Run The Track, will feature mentorship from the grime legend, and will be open to 18 to 25-year-olds in music who face financial or social barriers. It will provide successful applicants with access to EartH’s on-site studio and facilities.
15 successful applicants will be equipped with the skills to navigate their careers independently, EartH, which is based in Hackney, said. This will come about via mentorship, masterclasses and industry support. A collaborative album will also be produced with its own launch show at the venue to conclude the project in spring 2026.
Speaking about the project, Jammz said: “The reason Run The Track exists is because it took me 10 years of trial and error to have my first successful year as an MC and a creative. I thought if I could take that 10 years of learning and package it into 16 weeks, maybe somebody who was trying to climb the ladder after me wouldn’t have to take that long and it’s harder now than ever for young people to get free access to a studio.
Through working as a musician and a playwright in theatre l’ve become skilled in storytelling and that’s a big part of being able to help other people connect with their audiences by helping them tell their story. The whole DIY ethos in grime is what helped me sustain a career for so long. There’s a lot to be said for what grime teaches about how to function on minimal resources. I haven’t had that much experience of labels and all of the skills I’ve learned through my artistry and my creative endeavours have been skills that l’ve learnt through necessity. I wanted to pass them on to the next generation to make their lives a bit easier.”
A fundraiser show to help finance the Run The Track project will take place on Sunday, 19th October with Jammz, Elijah and L-VIS 1990 playing. Those attending shows at EartH’s Theatre space can also support Studio 36 by hiring cushions at gigs for £2, and donations can also now be made when buying tickets on DICE for all events at the venue.
