Headie One’s tour bus stopped by armed police ahead of Leeds show

News

Headie One’s tour bus was stopped by armed police ahead of his show in Leeds.

The London MC, who is currently on a tour in support of his 2020 album ‘Edna’, was stopped by armed police en route to the Leeds O2 Academy this week (22nd) who removed and restrained the men who had been seated on the tour bus.

In a video shared to Headie One’s social media, an armed division of the West Yorkshire police can be seen approaching the tour bus, while a member of Headie’s team films the incident. The police can be heard asking for ID, before informing the person filming that people on the bus were wanted for an “indictable offence”.

Thirty minutes later, the tour bus was stopped again, with armed officers asking someone on the bus to raise their hands and asking them to step out. The incident was recorded on Instagram live. Officers can be seen restraining and speaking with Headie’s manager, who can be heard saying “you’re going to break my wrist”.

According to a video shared via Headie One’s Instagram, the stop follows another incident earlier this week, when police entered the MC’s hotel in Glasgow to “issue Headie with a notice” after the police had reportedly recieved information regarding a threat to his safety in London.

It is not known what happened following the incident, but Headie One was late for his performance at the O2 Academy.

In a report via BBC News, West Yorkshire Police confirmed that armed officers stopped a vehicle in Leeds city centre and said that no arrests were made.
