HAAi shares new single, ‘Stitches’: Listen

HAAi has shared a new single, ‘Stitches’.

The new single is the latest to be shared from the London-based Australian DJ and producer’s forthcoming album, ‘HUMANiSE’, which is due on 10th October via Mute. The album will also include previously released singles ‘Satellite’ with Jon Hopkins, Obi Franky, Trans Voices and ILA, ‘Can’t Stand To Lose’, ‘Shapeshift’ with KAM-BU, and ‘HEY!’.

The track is said to be indicative of a new approach HAAi has been taking in her productions, favouring more organic elements such as vocals and more traditional songwriting techniques and structures.

Speaking on the process of making her new album, HAAi said: “Throughout the album, I kept thinking about a machine with a human heart,” adding that she had been “inspired to return to my songwriting roots and use my voice more in my own music.”

“It took a long time to get there, it’s such a vulnerable thing to do,” she continued, “but for this album, it was important for me to allow this ‘human heart’ to be front and centre.”

In May, HAAi joined Massive Attack, Annie Mac, Dua Lipa, Wretch 32, Annie Lennox, and many more in signing an open letter calling for Keir Starmer to “end UK complicity in Gaza horrors”.
