Goldie unveils DJ Randall tribute mural in Bristol
Goldie has revealed a new tribute mural to the late DJ Randall in Bristol.
The London-born jungle and drum & bass pioneer, who moved to Bristol in the early noughties, has been honoured by friend and peer Goldie with the Brunel Way underpass art one year after his death in July 2024, Bristol 24/7 reports.
Goldie enlisted graffiti artists including POSEA, DIBZ, SOKEM/SOKER and Cheo to join him in creating the mural, with friends MC GQ, DJ Chef and Marly Marl also present, via Mixmag. Work began at 6 AM on 2nd August and was finished by the 3rd.
Goldie shared the finished tribute on Instagram with the caption “done and dusted”, and later a video of the process with the message: “Thank you Randall for the memories, special thanks for Lee Raw for putting this together, and all the love for my crew THK true Headz kru”.
In the weeks DJ Randall’s death, a drum & bass archivist on Reddit shared more than 500 of the late artist’s mixes and recorded sets.
