Goldie has suggested that humans are descended from aliens.

In a recent interview with the Daily Star, the drum & bass pioneer said that “Mars is like an old fucking gaff we used to live at”. The comments followed the “space race”, which saw Amazon founder Jeffrey Bezos and Virgin’s Richard Branson both take private trips to the edge of the earth’s atmosphere last month. 

“I always get that weird thing when people start saying, ‘Oh here we go with Aliens’,” he said. “But we are aliens. We are a manifestation of power, energy in the universe that’s manifested itself in one consciousness. Where do we come from? We are the manifestation of an infinite universe in infancy.”

Elsewhere, Goldie is currently in the middle of a seven-week residency at London’s XOYO, where he’s tapped up the likes of Sicaria Sound, Doc Scott, DJ Flight, Grooverider, Commix, David Rodigan, Dillinja and Randall. The residency follows on from the release of a 25th anniversary vinyl box set of Goldie’s ‘Timeless’ album in June.
