Goldie donates custom Fender guitar to The Big Issue charity auction

News

Goldie has donated a custom Fender guitar to a charity auction.

Joining up with award-winning magazine and organisation, The Big Issue, UK drum & bass pioneer and artist, Goldie, has donated a customised Fender guitar titled the “Splattocaster” to the forthcoming The Big Art Auction.

Taking place on the 4th November, The Big Art Auction will sell off nine customised Fender guitars, with other designs from the likes of former Young British Artist Gavin Turk, Sex Pistols album artist Jamie Reid, installation artist Lauren Baker, and Glaswegian artist and illustrator, Rugman.

The auction will be a live-streamed event, and will include video messages from the artists involved. Funds raised from the auction will be used to support Big Issue vendors through this challenging winter period, as pandemic lockdown uncertainty makes life even tougher for those who make their living selling the magazine on the streets.

In August, Goldie launched a new website and portal to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his groundbreaking drum & bass album ‘Timeless’.
