Galcher Lustwerk’s ‘100% Galcher’ mixtape to get vinyl release on Ghostly International

Galcher Lustwerk’s ‘100% Galcher’ mixtape is set to get its long-awaited vinyl release on Ghostly International.

The Cleveland-born producer’s breakout ‘100% Galcher’ mix – which comprised 15 tracks of deep, luxurious house with hip-house touches – was originally released in 2013 via the erstwhile Blowing Up The Workshop series but will get a fully remastered limited-edition double-LP vinyl release on 2nd December.

In excerpts from the ‘100% Galcher’ liner notes, Lustwerk recalls the LP’s “loose” first sessions. “I wanted to feel like you were tripping, maybe having a bit of heatstroke, or dehydration. Your body feels detached, your jaw clenched. People become furniture. Light becomes the main character, surfaces show their age in real-time. Wabi-sabi shit,” he said.

The mix was recorded in his bedroom in Brooklyn using a Dave Smith Tempest drum machine, a Waldorf Blofeld synthesizer, and a TEAC cassette recorder.

Lustwerk’s debut full-length, ‘Dark Bliss’, surfaced in 2017, and the LP ‘200% Galcher’ followed in 2018. A third album, ‘Information’, came in 2019 with the ‘Information Redacted’ LP following in 2021.
