Fundraiser for Chris Stoker, London DJ and Not An Animal label co-founder, launched amid cancer treatment
A fundraiser has been launched for London DJ, Not An Animal label co-founder and ESS O ESS member Chris Stoker.
A former resident at legendary Hackney music pub The Gun, which closed in March, Stoker was diagnosed with kidney cancer three years ago and has been undergoing extensive treatment since. According to the GoFundMe page, donations will be used to help support ongoing medical care and recovery.
“Never underestimate the healing properties of a good time,” the post reads. “For anyone who knows Chris, you’ll know that this phrase encapsulates perfectly the special environment in which so many friendships and lifelong memories have been forged around him and the spirit he continues to bring to the occasion.
“Chris has shown extraordinary courage and a depth of resolve that continues to inspire us all as he and his family fight through this,” it continues. “We’re asking you for your support – to help him continue accessing the best possible care, to ease the financial weight, and to give him the space and strength to focus on healing. We know times are extraordinarily tough, so whether you can donate, share his story, or simply send a message of support – it all matters more than you can imagine.”
