Fred again..’s USB002 tour scenography exhibition to open in New York

Fred again.. is bringing some of the installations from his USB002 tour to an exhibition in New York.

Taking place on 22nd January, the fabric installation centrepiece was designed by Boris Acket and formed a canopy above the crowds on his recent tour.

The exhibition will be soundtracked by a reworked version of ‘Secret Life’, an ambient collaboration with Fred’s mentor, Brian Eno.

Announcing the exhibition, Fred wrote on Instagram: “The fabric installation hanging above everyone these 10 shows is by boris acket. its 70 meters long and really breathtaking. even more so when your actually beneath it. im so happy we were able to make it possible.

“im really often thinking about how we can sorta create the conditions for a core memory. and the goal here visually was to find something that felt sorta intricate and living almost but could still work in these big warehouse ravey spaces. but withoutttt distracting from the music, always just supporting it, because that is what its all about. the memories i have from these shows already are really quite magical feeling. for a million reasons and i think the way these spaces feel thanks to what boris and his team have made possible is a big one.”

Tickets are on sale here.

Last week, Fred again.. played the first two shows of the USB002 residency at New York’s East End Studios alongside Romy and HAAi on the Friday and Oppidan, Hamdi and BRUX on the Saturday.

The ongoing USB002 series officially kicked off in September when he announced he would be releasing 10 new songs and playing 10 shows in 10 cities around the world across 10 weeks. In December, he extended the run with 10 more shows in New York and London.

A vinyl version of ‘USB002’, which featured ‘you’re a star’ with Amyl and the Sniffers, ‘Talk of the Town’ with Sammy Virji & Reggie, and ‘Beto’s Horns’ with CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso & Ezra Collective, was released in December.

In October, Fred again.. went B2B with Thomas Bangalter for the Daft Punk star’s first DJ set in 16 years.
