Fred again.. and LATIN MAFIA Record Entire Mixtape on Non-Stop Livestream
Fred again.. and LATIN MAFIA created an entire mixtape in two days this week, broadcasting the full process during a non-stop livestream. Following the release of their collaborative tour film, under the fabric, on Sunday, the UK producer and the Mexican R&B trio announced they would be camping out in a CDMX studio to produce a brand new project in real-time. Their goal was to maintain the stream until the mixtape was complete and ready for release.
In a post on Instagram, Fred again.. noted that he and the fraternal trio had been exchanging ideas for the past couple of years. He explained, “It was mad how quickly everything we made felt like it was naturally part of the same world. Sometimes I find I have to really work hard to make things feel like a contained universe, but in this case, everything that came out just naturally felt like one thing to us all. So we wanna put it all out as one project.”
Throughout the livestream, the musicians’ creative synergy was on full display, showcasing the organic development of their sound. The project reached completion on Thursday, just hours before the artists took to the stage for a surprise performance at the Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City. This marks their second major collaboration in recent months, following their joint appearances during the 2026 tour.
While official release details for the collaborative mixtape remain under wraps, a snippet from the 10th hour of the broadcast has surfaced on YouTube. In the clip, Fred again.., LATIN MAFIA, and KatzPascale can be seen crafting an edit of ‘Cmon’, a standout track from Fred’s 2023 album with Brian Eno, Secret Life.
