Fabric announces ‘no photo, no video’ on the dancefloor policy

News

London’s fabric is introducing a “strict” no-photo and no-video policy when it reopens.

Announcing the news yesterday (June 28th) via social media, a post shared by the club said: “fabric is London’s home for underground music, always aiming to create a feeling of self-expression on the dance-floor. We are introducing a strict no photo, and no video policy at the club. Stay in the moment and put away your phone, enjoy the night.”

DJ Sunil Sharpe shared his approval of the new measures, writing on Twitter: “I hope more clubs and promoters follow. This is the most effective way for nightclubs to raise the value of the experience going forward. The distinction between clubs and festivals can be made clearer this way too.”

Professional photographers will still be permitted at the club, but the rule will apply to any unauthorised videos or photography. The venue, like all other nightclubs in the UK, currently hopes to reopen from July 19th when the UK’s COVID-19 lockdown is presently fully expected to end.

The club will present a duo of events on its reopening weekend, scheduled for July 23rd and 24th. The line-ups are yet to be announced.

fabric will also continue with its ‘fabric presents’ compilation series next month, releasing a new instalment by Overmono.
