Fabio Tosti – After The Rave EP

Fabio Tosti lands on DJ Spen’s unquantize label for a nicely varied trio of housed-up action, with a pair of floor-fillers — the Technotronic-sampling ‘Jump It’ and the spirited piano stomper ‘Magic Friday’ — joined by the beautifully diamond-cut ‘After The Rave’. But there’s even more heat via a pair of steamy remixes: the deep-house veteran Jovann’s take on ‘Magic Friday’ splits the difference between raw and jazzy, while a trio of Baltimore’s finest — Thommy Davis, Greg Lewis and Spen himself — amp the same tune’s inherent gospel factor to the max. It’s almost overkill that both of those versions boast a series of booming “work that body” exhortations, courtesy of DJ Fatman — but then again, never too much of a good thing, right?
