Eliza Rose has released a new single, ‘Quasimodo (0800-Flirt-Divert)’. Listen below.

The soulful track was written with Defected and Glitterbox-affiliated DJ and producer Zach Witness, and is out as a vinyl-only release on Rose’s own Rosebud Recordings label. It additionally comes with remixes by Sally C, Zed Bias and La La.

Speaking about the single, the UK artist said: “Carefree, fun and a little silly, ‘Quasimodo’ could be compared to gossiping with the girls on hazy, lazy summers afternoon, drinking wine and tinnies in London Fields.”

Rose has also confirmed plans for her debut live show, which will take place at Chats Palace Arts Centre in Hackney on 20th March.

Speaking about the show, she said: “Doing my first live show with a band at Chats Palace truly feels like a home coming. I grew up in Chats Palace; my mum ran two drama groups called Stage Left and Chit Chat, back when the road was known as murder mile. Me and my sisters were there all the time, performing, playing table football, watching my mum teach. Either way, I was parading about Chats for years.

“It feels almost unreal to be back, like a fever dream!,” she continued. “Something I would have wished for when I was running around the hallways. This show really feels like the start of something special, going back to a space which was one of the first places I performed. Truly full circle, closing off the last chapter, ready for the next story to begin.”

The new song follows on from the November release of Oppidan collaboration ‘Too Slow (All Night)’, as well as last summer’s link-up with The Trip, ‘Weekend’.

Last year, Rose teamed up with Sally C for the EP, ‘DR Pleasure’, which featured “high-energy house music and tongue-in-cheek lyricism”.
