Eliza Rose Returns to Her Roots with ‘FABRICLIVE. Presents’ Mix
Eliza Rose has officially curated the latest installment of the iconic ‘FABRICLIVE. Presents’ mix series. The 20-track collection serves as a significant milestone for the East London-born artist, signaling a return to the sounds that first shaped her identity as a DJ and producer.
The mix includes two brand-new original productions: ‘Pingers’ and ‘Morning Light’, the latter of which features a collaboration with DJ Marky. Beyond her own work, the tracklist is a curated journey through the underground, featuring selections from Introspekt, Amaliah, Zed Bias, A For Alpha, and The Trip, among others.
Reflecting on the project, Rose shared that the mix represents a deliberate shift in her musical direction. “This mix really represents my musical direction, going back to my roots,” she explained. “Tracks that inspired me, artists I grew up listening to on Kiss FM and Rinse FM, or discovered at Flashback, where I was able to delve deeper into the underground music that formulated my taste, as well as artists I’m loving now.”
The process of creating this mix was also a journey of personal recovery for the artist. Following the massive success of her breakout hit ‘BOTA’, Rose admitted to feeling a sense of detachment. “After ‘BOTA’, I lost my way – not only my sense of self, but what I played and who I was playing for,” she noted. “I almost fell out of love with music once I had a peek behind the curtain and realised how exploitative and cutthroat this industry can really be.”
She described the last few years as a period of necessary withdrawal—focusing on her own well-being, writing her upcoming album, and rediscovering the joy of digging for records. “I’ve found myself falling back in love with my passions, and this mix is part of that realignment. She’s thrown out the map and is back in the driving seat.”
