DJ Oh Annie Oh’s ‘Don’t Call Me “Exotic”‘ (DCME) is returning for a second season, with a number of high profile guests involved. 

The podcast series was conceived in lockdown and launched last October as a response to growing anti-Asian hate, and new episodes will feature broadcaster and DJ Monki, Girls Will Be Boys founder Char Ellesse, head of Enact Equality & APPG L’myah Sherae, editor of Gal-Dem magazine Suyin Haynes, fashion writer Susie Lau (AKA Susie Bubble), and Korean rapper Pianwooo. 

“DCME celebrates the inspiring people of colour who are excelling in their chosen fields, expressing themselves as well as uplifting culture,” said Oh. 

Theme-wise, the new series will explore the personal and professional lives of guests and look at how they navigate careers in the face of racism and prejudice. Imposter syndrome, the ‘bamboo ceiling’, Afro hair discrimination, tokenism, and social media shadow bans are also on the agenda. 

In total, six shows will be broadcast in the next run, which begins Thursday 3rd March, just ahead of International Women’s Day, and continues weekly through to 7th April. Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Acast are all host platforms.
