In 2025, dance music’s biggest tracks were exactly that: big. The taste for euphoria that’s permeated dancefloors across the genre spectrum in recent years reached new heights, with dramatic melodies, emotive vocals and tearaway drops woven into everything from mutated techno belters and garage hits to dreamy trance gems, instant-reload grime cuts, and Afro-tech anthems. But amongst all these peaks, there was plenty of magic to be found in the valleys, where trippy house music and mellow strains of rap let things breathe, and leftfield styles of percussive club music were given the space to stretch their limbs in dizzying new directions.
