Disclosure and Anderson .Paak link up for new single and video, ‘No Cap’: Watch
Disclosure and Anderson .Paak have linked up on a new single. You can watch the video to ‘No Cap’ below.
Combining bouncy tech funk grooves and quick-fire vocals, the track marries fidgety club sounds with pop sensibilities. It marks the latest in a career-spanning list of high profile collaborations for the UK producers, aka brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence — from 2012 breakthrough single, ‘Latch’ with Sam Smith, to November’s joint effort with Pa Salieu.
“This collab is well overdue and I can’t wait to feed the people,” said .Paak, aka Brandon Paak Anderson. “We’ve been teasing the track for a little bit and it never misses! ‘No Cap’ is the ideal dance floor banger you don’t have to think about!”
“Creating something with Andy has been a long time coming. We first met at our show at Forrest Hills in NYC back in 2015 and have been fans of his for even longer,” Disclosure said in a statement. “The time finally felt right and the right song appeared. He’s one of the most talented musicians we have ever worked with and we can’t wait for you all to hear this one and perform it live together soon.”
‘No Cap’ arrives ahead of a marathon North American tour for Disclosure, who picked up their ninth GRAMMY nomination at the beginning of this year. The pair will play dates in cities including Seattle, San Diego, Houston, Mexico City, Dallas, Boston, and Washington D.C. from mid-September to mid-October. Support acts include Villager, bullet tooth and Fcukers.
