Depeche Mode concert film, M, released on Netflix

Depeche Mode’s concert film M has been made available for streaming on Netflix.

The feature-length film documents the band’s three sold-out shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol Stadium, which took place in September 2023 and saw them play to almost 200,000 fans. The trio of gigs formed the early part of their extensive tour in support of 2023 album ‘Memento Mori’.

Directed by filmmaker Fernando Frias, the film aims to explore the parallels between the themes covered on ‘Memento Mori’ and the connection to death and mortality in Mexican culture. It previously premiered in cinemas across the world last October, with a physical release following last month in addition to an accompanying live album.

Netflix subscribers in the UK, Europe and the US can watch M from today (9th January).

Released in March 2023, ‘Memento Mori’ was Depeche Mode’s 15th studio album and also their first full-length release since the passing of band co-founder Andy Fletcher.
