Daniel Avery announces new album, ‘Tremor’, shares ‘Rapture In Blue’: Listen
Daniel Avery has announced the release of his sixth album, ‘Tremor’, via Domino.
Lead single ‘Rapture In Blue’, which you can hear below, is built around drop-forge industrial drums counter-balanced by vocals from LA-based artist Cecile Believe.
Promising more of Avery’s trademark fusion of techno, shoegaze, industrial and ambient music, ‘Tremor’ will also featuring contributions from Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Walter Schreifels of Quicksand and Rival Schools, bdrmm, Julie Dawson of NewDad, yeule, Ellie, Art School Girlfriend, and yunè pinku.
Speaking about the new album, Avery commented: “This is a living and breathing collective. Since the earliest recordings, Tremor felt like a studio in the sky, a space in time through which we could all pass as artists”.
“It’s the welcoming spirit of acid house with the doors flung open wider still to allow in every influence from my musical journey: the warmth of distortion, the stillness inside intensity, the transcendental beauty of noise… They have always been there in my music, but now it feels like those ideas are being transmitted in Technicolour. This is a record for the post-rave comedown kids, the guitar heads and anyone else who wants to come along for the ride. Everyone is welcome.”
‘Tremor’ will be released on 31st October. The record will be accompanied by a specially prepared live experience, culminating at the Barbican in London on 8th November.
