Cherry Audio releases vintage synth emulation, SH-MAX
Cherry Audio has released a new vintage synth emulation, the SH-MAX.
The soft synth merges features of the classic 1970s Roland SH-series synths — the SH-5, SH-7 and SH-3A — into a 16-voice software instrument.
The SH-MAX emulates the “vibrant sounds and essential features” of the SH-5, including its dual oscillators, two LFOs, parallel filter sections (multimode and bandpass), plus ring modulator, and sample and hold functionality.
Features taken from the SH-7 include autobend, duophony and filter FM, while the additive-style oscillator borrows from the SH-3A. Watch an intro video below and buy it from Cherry Audio here. The SH-MAX is priced at $59.00.
The SH-MAX follows the release of the Mercury-8 last year — the California-based virtual instrument and effects software company’s version of the Roland Jupiter-8.
Last month, Ashun Sound Machines (ASM) debuted a new hybrid algorithmic synthesizer called The Leviasynth. That followed Stylophone adding a new portable sampler called VOICE to its Pocket Range series.
