BEC – Dawn Of A New Dimension

High-energy techno purveyor BEC continues her prolific run of releases with ‘Dawn Of A New Dimension’ EP. The Berlin-based DJ-producer cuts straight to the chase on the eponymous opener, straddling the smack of a hard techno kick with an offbeat skirting close to donk’s bounce. Cartoonish vocal samples punctuate the EP, including BEC’s own pitch-shifted voice on polyrhythmic biter ‘No Longer My Amore’. Vocals are chopped and spliced to skitter alongside dense beats in ‘Who Said Rich Means Money’, while Eastern sounds add a dreamy, melodic flavour to the percussive pressure of ‘In Motion’. The energy barely lets up.
