Barry Can’t Swim shares new single, ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’: Listen

Barry Can’t Swim has shared a new single, ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’. Released via Ninja Tune, the new track is his first of 2025.

According to the accompanying press release, the new track is the first taste of an upcoming bigger project set to land later in the year.

‘The Person You’d Like To Be’ sees the Edinburgh DJ and producer take a new tact than his breakthrough debut album ‘When Will We Land?’, folding in post-punk elements, a droning siren, and vocals from spoken word artist Seamus to tie it all together.

The new track comes alongside news that Barry Can’t Swim will be headlining Bristol’s FORWARDS festival alongside Doechii, Jorja Smith and Ezra Collective. He will also be headlining at All Points East festival this summer, his only London date of 2025.
