Bae Bae Debuts on Planet Mu with Powerful New EP ‘Gauze’

Bae Bae has officially announced the release of a new EP, ‘Gauze’, arriving via the esteemed UK label Planet Mu. To mark the announcement, the LA-based DJ and producer has shared the project’s lead single, ‘Still Believe’, which is available to stream below.

The debut EP for Planet Mu is described in press materials as a powerful artistic statement, serving as “a call to fight globally to bring an end to the occupation of Palestine.” The title itself, ‘Gauze’, is a deliberate reference to the material of the same name, which is said to have originated in Gaza.

The production process for the EP is deeply rooted in the current humanitarian crisis. The record incorporates visceral, real-world field recordings captured in Gaza, including a call to prayer recorded within a bombed-out mosque. Furthermore, the project features documentary audio recorded inside a hospital, alongside the voice of the late Palestinian writer and activist Ghassan Kanafani.

Musically, the release finds a balance between heavy, percussive club structures and the weight of its subject matter, drawing heavily on garage, footwork, and jungle influences. The result is a project that feels both rhythmically driven and deeply urgent.

In a show of solidarity, a portion of the proceeds from the EP will be donated to the Sameer Project, a Palestinian diaspora-led charity that provides essential aid, including food and water, to families displaced by the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
