Audio-Technica announces minimalist turntable, AT-LP7X

Audio-Technica has released a new belt-driven turntable, the AT-LP7X.

The matte black unit, which was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 in Las Vegas, is minimalist in its design, with “sharp lines”, a heavy MDF plinth and acrylic platter for smoother sound.

Meanwhile, the J-shaped tonearm is made from aluminium and echoes the look of Audio-Technica designs from the ’60s and ’70s. Any stylus from the VM95 Series can be swapped out as a replacement.

The turntable — an update on the Japanese company’s 2019 AT-LP7 offering — is fitted with a phono pre-amp and comes pre-mounted with the AT-VM95E cartridge on an AT-LT10 headshell, promising low distortion.

The AT-LP7X is the latest addition to Audio-Technica’s wide range of turntables, which also includes a high-end unit released last year, the AT-LPA2, and 2024’s AT-LP8X, which is also aimed at audiophiles.
