Arturia announces new version of all-in-one soft synth, Pigments 6

Arturia has announced the latest version of its multi-engined soft synth, Pigments 6.

The latest update to the all-in-one instrument adds a new Modal Engine, which emulates physical modelling tones like plucked sounds and resonant pads. Elsewhere, there are three new filter types, including the ‘analogue’ Multimode V2, a stacked Cluster filter for more swirling effects and sounds, and a LoFi for crunchy and bit-crushed filtering. Arturia has also added a vocoder effect to Pigments, which can be used either with an audio input mode or using internal sounds and engines within the plug-in.

Pigments 6 also features new modulation options, allowing users to assign different modulation values per voice. The company has also added deeper randomness values, and an improved Function V2 for sculpting curves. Pigments’ granular engine has been improved, and Arturia has also tweaked the UX and UI, including an improved browser and refreshed layout.

Pigments 6 is available now for a reduced introductory price of $99, rising to $199 later, though Pigments 5 owners get the update for free. Find out more on the Arturia website and watch the video below for a full lowdown of what’s new.

Last year, Arturia updated their mammoth synth bundle V Collection to version 10, adding a 303 clone, a CP-70 recreation and more.
