Armada to open London complex with recording studios and event space

Armada Music is opening a multifunctional hub in London.

The new “state-of-the-art” 7,000-square-foot complex in Old Street will be spread out across six floors and span two recording studios, an event space furnished with a premium L-Acoustics sound system, as well as “dedicated listening rooms”.

The space will also host writing camps for artists, while plans are in place to set up a “dedicated local creative team” under its publishing arm to “further support its roster and bolster Armada Music Publishing’s headcount”.

“This is a pivotal moment for Armada and a testament to the UK’s vibrant dance music scene,” Armada Music UK general manager Ben Malon said in a press statement. “This new hub will empower us to further champion local artists, provide them with unparalleled resources, and foster more innovation and creativity in the UK.”

Last April saw the relaunch of New York house music label King Street Sounds through Armada Music’s investment arm. Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron and David Lewis’ Armada Music acquired King Street Sounds through what the firm considers to be the world’s first dance music investment platform, the BEAT [Best Ever Acquired Tracks] Music Fund.

In October 2023, DJ Mag went down to Armada Music’s headquarters in Amsterdam to find out how an independent imprint had risen to become a world-dominating powerhouse.

Armada Music celebrated its 20th birthday in 2023 with the release of a new limited edition vinyl box set.
