Arca Premieres New Music from ‘XXXXX’ Album on Livestream

The experimental music landscape shifted once again as Arca premiered new music from her forthcoming album, ‘XXXXX’, in a high-concept livestream that aired via YouTube and Twitch. The broadcast, which took place last night, offered fans an immersive look into the artist’s evolving sonic and visual universe.

Directed by Daniel Sannwald, with lighting design by Matiere Noire, the two-hour ‘Diva.Experimental’ broadcast was staged live from an abandoned factory in Barcelona. The performance saw Arca deliver the entirety of the new LP ahead of its official release next Friday, July 31st. Two standout tracks from the stream—‘Fxck’ and the atmospheric closer ‘Sueño’—have since been archived online for fans to revisit.

During the performance of ‘Fxck’, the artist appeared covered in a striking, blood-like paint while spray-painting a canvas on the floor, emphasizing the visceral nature of her creative process. In contrast, ‘Sueño’ utilized a stark concrete backdrop, dramatic red lighting, and drone-powered spotlights to create a haunting, industrial aesthetic.

This latest project follows the announcement of the 16-track ‘XXXXX’ earlier this week. It marks her first full-length record since the 2021 release of ‘Kick IIIII’, which served as the final installment of her acclaimed ‘KICK’ series. Beyond her solo work, the artist has remained prolific, recently sharing a remix of the Charli XCX-adjacent pop sphere and appearing in Madonna’s ‘Confessions II – The Film’, where she also served as a co-producer.
