Arca Announces New Album ‘XXXXX’ and Shares New Material
Experimental visionary Arca has officially announced her upcoming 16-track album, ‘XXXXX’, which is scheduled for release on Friday, July 31st, via XL Recordings. This highly anticipated project marks a significant return for the artist, continuing her legacy of pushing the boundaries of electronic and avant-garde music.
Alongside the album announcement, the Venezuelan artist revealed plans for a special livestream event titled Diva.Experimental, airing on July 23rd. Directed by Daniel Sannwald and styled by Akeem Smith, the broadcast is designed to provide fans with an immersive glimpse into the sonic world of the new record ahead of its official launch.
The announcement follows a whirlwind week for the artist, who recently completed a worldwide radio takeover. Spanning platforms such as Kiosk Radio, NTS Radio, UCLA Radio, DUBLAB, and East Village Radio, the takeover served as a showcase for a selection of new material. During these broadcasts, she unveiled a 30-minute project titled ‘Airdoll’, which is currently available for listeners to revisit via SoundCloud.
This new chapter arrives following a prolific period for the artist. Her last full-length record, ‘Kick IIIII’, was released in 2021 as the final installment of her acclaimed ‘KICK’ series. More recently, in 2025, she composed the score for Bairro Triste, a film by director Stillz. Earlier this year, she also contributed a remix to the latest single from Charli XCX‘s peer, Robyn, and appeared in Madonna’s short film, Confessions II — The Film, alongside Honey Dijon and Cole Palmer.
