Aphex Twin announces expanded reissue of Polygon Window’s ‘Surfing On Sine Waves’

Aphex Twin has announced an expanded reissue of the sole album released under his Polygon Window alias.

1993’s ‘Surfing On Sine Waves’ is being re-released on vinyl, CD and cassette on 26th September. Additional tracks from that same year’s ‘Quoth’ EP – ‘Bike Pump Meets Bucket’, ‘Quoth (Wooden Thump Mix)’ and ‘Iketa’ – will also be included in the reissue.

‘Surfing On Sine Waves’ was the second ever release in Warp Records’ Artificial Intelligence series, which also featured releases from Autechre, The Black Dog and more.

The name ‘Polygon Window’ was originally used by James as the title of a track released under another of his many aliases, The Dice Man, and appeared on an ‘Artificial Intelligence’ compilation in 1992. That compilation was reissued in 2022.

An expanded edition of Aphex Twin’s ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume II’ was re-released last autumn in five formats with a listening party at the Tate Modern.

In December last year, Aphex Twin released a surprise compilation, ‘Music From The Merch Desk (2016-2023)’.

Last year also saw James collaborate with Supreme on a number of projects, including a full Spring/Summer line of clothing, including a t-shirt featuring the ‘Windowlicker’ artwork, and a 191-track playlist.
