AlphaTheta announces Apple Music integration for CDJ-3000X

AlphaTheta has announced Apple Music support for its CDJ-3000X media player.

The update was unveiled this week, and allows digital DJs using the manufacturer’s flagship media player to instantly browse and play more than 100 million tracks licensed to the streaming platform. Current charts and individual playlists can also be accessed.

“We’re excited to have Apple Music integrated into the new CDJ-3000X, bringing the power of 100 million songs and our editorial curation to users around the world,” said Stephen Campbell, global head of dance, electronic & DJ mixes at Apple Music.

In order to use the vast library, AlphaTheta’s CloudDirectPlay setup must be completed and users need to be signed in to Apple Music through rekordbox in advance. Authentication steps are also required, which can be completed using the DJ software’s iOS or Android app, a QR code scan, or paired USB device.

The announcement comes just months after the CDJ-3000X went on sale, and adds to a growing number of DJ hardware with Apple Music integration. The streaming service already works directly with Serato, djay Pro, Denon DJ, Numark, Rane, and Engine DJ.

Last year, AlphaTheta announced Spotify support for its DJ software, rekordbox.
