A State Of Trance announces two-day 25th anniversary event in Rotterdam

Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance brand has announced a 25th anniversary festival, taking place in Rotterdam.

Scheduled to take place on 27th and 28th February 2026, it will be hosted at Rotterdam Ahoy in The Netherlands. Tickets go on sale this Thursday (11th September) with pre-registration now open here for early access to them.

The first night of the 25th anniversary event will feature three stages, including the special ‘Journey Through 25 Years Of Trance’ stage, which is described as “a one-of-a-kind experience tracing the evolution of the genre from its underground roots to today’s cutting-edge sound”. The night will be headlined by a special five-hour set from Armin van Buuren, while other currently unannounced pioneers of the genre and rising talent are set to play.

The following day, the programming expands to cover five stages, with each set to offer a different dimension of trance and progressive music. The full line-up will be announced at a later date.

Founded by Armin van Buuren in 2001 as a radio show in Amsterdam, A State Of Trance has since grown to be recognised as one of the most well-known brands in trance music. It had hosted radio broadcasts, parties and festivals across more than 80 countries.

Last month, van Buuren released his ‘A State Of Trance Ibiza 2025’ mix album.

In June, he released his latest album, the 51-track ‘Breathe’.
