46 UK festivals partner with War Child for fundraising ticket draw

46 UK Festivals have announced a new partnership with War Child. The events will offer free tickets to fans who donate £10 to the Festivals Unite campaign, which aims to help the charity provide support for the 1-in-5 young people affected by conflict globally.

The campaign is being led by the Association of Independent Festivals, Boomtown and Love Saves The Day. Passes to events including Reading and Leeds, Anjuna Deep London, Gottwood, Houghton, Shambala, Junction 2, 2000trees, We Out Here, Jazz Café Festival, All Points East, Body Movements, End of the Road and Waterworks are also up for grabs.

A number of overseas events run by UK promoters are involved too, with Croatia’s Outlook and Snowboxx in the French Alps offering entry in exchange for entering the prize draw.

Anyone who wants to be in with a chance has until Sunday 1st June at 23:59 BST to enter. Winners will then be announced the following day, Monday 2nd June. You can find out more information, donate and enter here

“We’re incredibly grateful to Festivals Unite and all the teams that are donating tickets to some of the most highly anticipated festivals of the summer,” said War Child UK Music Manager, Feedy Frizzi. “I’m a strong believer that music fans truly care about making a positive impact, and this prize draw is the perfect opportunity for them to do just that while getting the chance to see some of their favourite artists live.”

“Festivals are places of love, joy and jubilation, something that everybody should be able to experience but that is so far away from the devastating reality faced by the millions of children that War Child seeks to protect on a daily basis,” added AIF CEO John Rostron. “By bringing together the UK festival community for this campaign, we can not only raise funds for a worthy cause but also demonstrate the good that both festivals and festival-goers can do.”

War Child currently operates in 13 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. The organisation delivers life-saving medicines, food, and other supplies to war zones, and provides education, specialist psychological care and long-term protection for children caught in military conflicts. It is estimated that 473 million under-18s are currently at risk from fighting across the globe — more than the combined populations of the US and Canada.

The charity has a long history of working with clubs, DJs and promoters in the UK. Venues including fabric, Corsica Studios, and Phonox were amongst 30 addresses handing over bar profits for an entire weekend in 2023. Meanwhile, earlier this month FOLD hosted The Right To Dance in conjunction with Eat Your Own Ears and GALA Festival. The line-up featured Floating Points, Ben UFO, Jamz Supernova, Isaac Carter, and Love Remain.
