12 sound clash classics, chosen by the artists that play them

Red Bull Culture Clash is making its return to London for the first time since 2016 with an event at Drumsheds this weekend (8th March).

Inspired by Jamaican sound clash culture, Culture Clash was first launched in 2010 and has since been held in Los Angeles and Kingston as well as London.

This weekend’s line-up will feature head-to-head performances from four crews: the Native Soundsystem Crew led by Teezee, the Homegrown Crew led by Jyoty, the Spice Army Crew led by Spice, and the Voice of the Streets Crew led by Kenny AllStar. Past crews have included Boy Better Know, A$AP Mob, Popcaan and Spice with Mixpak, Chase & Status with Rebel Sound while special guests have appeared in the form of J Hus, Stormzy.

Ahead of the event, we asked artists from each crew for three tracks that represent sound clash culture to them.
