1.2 million people have signed up for a “Christmas Rave” event at 10 Downing Street.

The Facebook event, created by DJ Jon Mancini, was set up in the wake of the recent Christmas parties scandal, which saw Prime Minister Boris Johnson order an official investigation into a number of government staff parties which reportedly took place in November and December 2020 – while the rest of the country remained in lockdown.

According to the spoof event’s details, the “MASSIVE RAVE AT 10 DOWNING STREET” will take place on the 24th December from 6PM, with “no social distancing required” and a request to “bring your own nibbles and drinks”.

Despite the 1.2 million sign-ups, Mancini added a note to remind those who clicked attending that the event was “not real and all just for humour and poking fun at the powers that be.”
