The UK’s first official Afrobeats chart will launch this week.

Broadcasting on BBC Radio 1Xtra this Sunday (26th July), The Official UK Afrobeats Show will announce the first ever Official UK Afrobeats Chart, and continue to announced the chart every Sunday at 2PM thereafter.

The announcement comes alongside a Spotify playlist of the top 20 afrobeats artists of the last 12 months, featuring the likes of Burna Boy, J Hus, WizKid, and Aya Nakamura, as well as Not3s and Tekno. 

Check out the playlist below, and tune in to the BBC Sounds app on Sunday for the first Official UK Afrobeats Chart. The station will be celebrating African music and culture all weekend, as part of their #1XSummer campaign.
