Tomorrowland to honour Avicii with all-day tribute on One World Radio

Tomorrowland World Radio will honour Avicii with an all-day tribute this week.

As a tribute to the late Avicii, Tomorrowland’s World Radio will mark three years since the legendary artist’s passing with a full day of programming dedicated to Avicii’s music. The DJ and producer, real name Tim Bergling, died by suicide in 2018 aged 28-years-old.

“3 years after his passing, Tomorrowland takes a moment to celebrate the wonderful Avicii with a unique tribute to the Swedish DJ & producer on One World Radio,” Tomorrowland said. “Tuesday April 20 will be fully devoted in loving memory of the Swedish legend, looking back on all the beautiful musical contributions he gifted to the world. Throughout the entire day, more than 60 of his greatest hits and most iconic anthems will be played on the radio station, as well as a bunch of live clips from Avicii’s performances at Tomorrowland.”

Avicii had a special relationship with Tomorrowland after first playing the festival in 2011. In May last year, in the second edition of Tomorrowland’s Top 1000 poll, a publicly-voted round-up of its most memorable anthems, fans chose the EDM legend’s breakthrough track ‘Levels’ as their No.1 Tomorrowland track, knocking Swedish House Mafia’s ‘One’ from the top spot.

You can tune in to the Avicii tribute tomorrow (20th April) here.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Tim: The Official Biography of Avicii, which was initially set for release in 2020, has been confirmed for release later this year.
