Shambhala 2020 has been officially cancelled due to coronavirus. 

In a statement released yesterday (21st April), the festival announced that, like countless other events and festivals this year, its 23rd edition would be postponed to July 2021. 

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must announce the 23rd Annual Shambhala Music Festival, originally scheduled for July 2020, will be postponed to July 2021,” the statement reads. “The festival will be held at the same location it has called home since 1998: the Salmo River Ranch. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience our postponement may have caused, and we give our full support and recognition to Dr. Bonnie Henry and her colleagues for the difficult decision they had to make.”

While Shambhala has ensured ticketholders that their ticket will be valid for the next three years, and is providing ways through which people can sell their tickets, it will not be offering any refunds.

Earlier this week, Ibiza clubs Hï and Ushuaïa officially cancelled all scheduled parties for May 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Shambhala is the latest festival to cancel its 2020 edition, joining the likes of Burning Man and Tomorrowland in announcing the news in recent weeks.
