Global Drug Survey launches Coronavirus edition

News

The Global Drugs Survey (GDS) has launched a special edition relating to the impact of Coronavirus on mental health, relationships, and the consumption of alcohol and other recreational drugs. You can complete the anonymous survey below.

Last year, DJ Mag partnered with the GDS — the world’s largest independent drugs survey — to magnify data relating to the night-time industries. The anonymous, confidential survey —  now in its eighth year — sees hundreds of thousands of people share their experiences of their own drug and alcohol use.

Speaking about the Coronavirus edition of the survey, GDS director Professor Adam Winstock said, “2020 should have been a bumper year for festivals, clubs and parties. Then, boom! Well not boom… just silence. How people have changed their partying and drug use behaviours remains a bit of mystery. We know drugs are still available, prices, deals and purity are labile, but will people who basically used drugs to enhance social activity decide to take a break or will they simply find another way to party?

“Although we might all be in the same storm, we ain’t in the same boat. And how we choose to steer our way through COVID19 will vary. GDS wants to understand: how are you coping? What the impact has been on your life, relationships and mental health, and of course your use of alcohol or drugs. Has use gone up or down? And if so, why and most importantly with what consequences?  Please take 15 minutes and join over 16,000 other people who are helping us understand so we can help make things better.”

The GDS Coronavirus edition has launched online in English, Dutch and German so far, with Spanish Portuguese, Finnish and Danish language versions all launching throughout this week. You can take the Global Drug Survey on Coronavirus here.
